Dermal Injectables In Las Vegas

Smoothed lines, plumper lips, and filled hollows are on the Wishlist for many women, and all for a good reason. Both genetics and the reality of aging affect us all at different life stages, and dermal injectables in Las Vegas are a fairly quick and easy solution to those problems. After an in-depth consultation with Dr. Mason, you will walk out feeling reassured about your cosmetic goals. She will prescribe a medical spa treatment plan designed with your health, physical, and mental well-being in mind. There are no one-size-fits-all plans at PPS. Each plan is customized, so rest assured that what is designed for you is designed to deliver you your best results.

What Are Some Injectable Options?

There are two main classes of injectables—each address separate problems. Many times women actually benefit from both!

Botulinum Toxins

(i.e., Botox, Dysport) are used to treat wrinkles caused by facial muscle movement. The most common wrinkles treated are the lines between your eyebrows, across your forehead, and the crows feet. Botox or Dysport work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that make these wrinkles. This gives you a smooth, well-rested appearance.

Dermal Fillers

(i.e., Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Sculptra) do what the name says: fill! As we age, we tend to lose volume, particularly in the upper part of our face. Fillers can restore a youthful appearance by refilling this volume. Injectables can also be used to fill deeper hollows or lines like the “tear troughs” under the eyes or the nasolabial lines between the nose and mouth. Patients of all ages can use them to plump up areas we wish were fuller, like the lips or cheeks. Areas such as the chin and nose can be augmented, and asymmetries can be corrected.

The Dermal Injectable Process

Dermal Injectables are performed in the Las Vegas office, and no sedation or general anesthesia is required. Although they are not painless, they are very well tolerated, and most people don’t require an additional local anesthetic.

When you go in for a Botox treatment, Dr. Mason will examine your face to decide the best areas to treat. She cleans your skin and then uses tiny needles to inject the liquid into the exact spots you need. The whole procedure takes only a few minutes!

Meanwhile, with Dermal Fillers, Dr. Mason will cleanse your skin in the areas you have decided to treat. If needed, she will administer a local anesthetic. However, most of the time, this is unnecessary, and the filler itself has a local anesthetic in it. She will use small needles or a cannula, depending on your particular procedure.

The filler is injected into the tissue that needs to be filled. She will “mold” it by pressing on your skin with her finger if necessary. The procedure usually takes a few minutes to half an hour, depending on how many areas you have decided to treat with injectables.

Recovering From Botox Or Dermal Fillers

Botox injections actually do not have immediate results. It takes several days to take effect, so do not fear when you see no difference after leaving the office!

As it begins to work, you may find that it works faster in some areas than others. Be patient. You will see the full effect you desire in two weeks or less. Depending on you and which brand of Botulinum toxin you use, results will generally last about 3-6 months.

Meanwhile, areas treated with fillers often become very swollen for about the first two weeks after the procedure. Once this resolves, you will see a lasting result. Depending on the filler you receive, it may attract water, making the appearance continue to smooth and improve over time. Dermal fillers last between 6 months and 2 years, depending on which you use. Dr. Mason could provide further instructions for recovering from dermal injectables after your appointment in our Las Vegas office.

Dermal Fillers FAQ

How long do dermal fillers really last?

Dermal fillers are commonly used to smooth out wrinkles, with results typically lasting six to twelve months for more superficial treatments.

Deeper injections may last up to a year, while newer formulations can extend results up to two years.

Which is better Botox or dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are generally more effective for treating static wrinkles, which are not caused by muscle movement. They are also useful for improving skin texture, addressing depressions, and reducing the appearance of deep-set wrinkles. Additionally, fillers can address concerns that Botox cannot, such as enhancing the lips, where Botox is not suitable for injection.

Are dermal fillers worth it?

Dermal filler treatments can rejuvenate the skin and add shape or fullness to specific areas of the face. They also offer the added benefits of reducing wrinkles, softening fine lines, restoring lost volume, and rehydrating the deeper layers of the skin.

What happens after fillers wear off?

As dermal fillers gradually wear off, the body naturally absorbs them. “When non-permanent fillers like Juvederm begin to break down, the body absorbs them,” explains Sarmiento. “The skin then returns to its original form prior to treatment.” To maintain the desired results, follow-up treatments are necessary.

How long after fillers do you look normal?

After injections, it’s common to experience noticeable swelling for 3-5 days, along with some puffiness that may take up to two weeks to fully subside. Once the swelling resolves, the appearance remains stable until the body begins to metabolize the product.

What age should you get fillers?

Dermal fillers can be used at any age to enhance lips, add volume to cheeks, define chins, or elevate nose bridges. If you’re looking to boost your confidence, you can start using fillers whenever you’re ready. The bottom line is there’s no specific age to begin injectables—start when you feel prepared.
